A Record Turn Out For The Largest Coffee Morning Event At &Meetings
&Meetings the meeting venue provider hosted 6 World’s Largest Coffee Morning events at its venues across the UK.
The 6 individual events were held in conjunction with Serviced Office provider and sister company Business Environment. Each event was attended by over 30 people who had baked cakes to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support. There was also a “decorate your cake” competition with a first prize of iTunes vouchers for the best creations. The events raised just over £1,200 in total up from £600 last time. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event. They ask people across the UK – and sometimes further afield – to hold a coffee morning, where donations on the day are made to Macmillan. In 2011 51,000 people signed up to coffee morning, raising a record £10 million.
Commenting on the success of this years event, Renata Korczyk, director at &Meetings said, “We are delighted that so many people turned out this year to support Macmillan. We have so many people baking cakes and taking part in the “decorate your cake” competition. It was truly inspiring to see the effort that went in to the cakes and I would like to say thanks to everyone for supporting us”.
