Meeting business objectives with meetings

The fast-paced and highly mobile nature of modern business means many meetings need to take place on the move. Of course, this results in professionals catching-up away from the office but requiring a professional environment in which to meet clients and colleagues.

For a quick discussion between colleagues about non-confidential work issues, a coffee shop might be acceptable. However, it’s clear that during a meeting with a new or potential client, a café or bar simply wouldn’t project the sort of professional image required at a time when first impressions are so vital, nor would it offer the facilities that might be required for presenting a pitch, such as a big screen and projector.
Likewise, when a physical meeting simply isn’t practical, a video conference might be more appropriate. However, in the instance of a new business pitch, it’s likely a video conference would be a considered a poor substitute for a more personal face-to-face conversation in a well-equipped meeting room.

It was recognising this increasing need for professional meeting space that led to us offering meeting rooms across London, the South East and the South West, that can be hired by the hour, half-day and full day, and booked online in under three minutes.

With the aim of providing an alternative to meeting in coffee shops, we launched an all-inclusive £5 an hour package, meaning no extra cost for refreshments, Wi-Fi or presentation and TV screens. Our aim was to create a package that showed our willingness to match our clients’ commitment to understanding meeting objectives and ensuring these are fulfilled. Indeed, the importance of correctly planning meetings is underlined by the benefits effective meetings can deliver, which include happy clients, successful business pitches and effective collaboration between colleagues – the building blocks of a businesses’ success.
